This means you can use your smartphone’s screen as a simplified control display for Alexa, letting you start navigation to either work or home and play music in one tap. We like that when you get in your car the Alexa app allows you to launch “Auto Mode”. You can also ask Alexa to make calls to mobiles, landlines and other Echo devices, so you can broadcast an announcement on an Echo in your house that you're on the way home. It can play music from a variety of different streaming services, including Amazon Music, Spotify and TuneIn, and give directions from the maps app on your phone through the speakers. On test, Alexa was quick to register any questions and respond with an answer, as it would on a home Echo speaker. It has eight microphones that pick up your voice and an LED around the edge that glows blue when Alexa is processing your request, or red when it's not listening.
